I took a while to write this specific blog post because I found it confusing looking through the website. I couldn't find the survey or the quiz to show me what kind of career mash person I was. Nonetheless, I looked through the website to try find  a career that caught my eye. That as well took a while. Which is when I realized that in the future I wont have a career in technology.
The one career that caught my eye though was an Illustrator.
An illustrator is responsible for the design and application for a variety of projects that require visual images like drawings, photos, video and graphic design of websites.
An Illustrator is responsible for -
Designing illustrations for video games
Responding to communication needs
Participating in design, development and improvement of websites and software
Analyzing customer requirements for design
Developing illustrations according to customer requirements
In order to get into this career, you will need a University degree in graphic communications, graphic design, arts, or visual arts.
OR!
College degree in graphic design or computer graphics.
I couldn't find anyone on this sight who was an Illustrator, but I did find someone else on the internet.
Stina Persson is an illustrator based in Stockholm, Sweden. There is not much information about her, but you can click here to see some of her art. It is incredible!

Web 2.0 and YOU! ~
1. How will emerging technology affect literacy?
I fell as if emerging technology has both a positive and negative effect on literacy.
On the positive side, it is really easy and fast to expand our knowledge on a specific subject. It takes 5 minutes, the most to go onto google and type a question that we don't know the answer to and to get the answer. We can use these new technologies to find out the correct spelling of a word, to find out the definition of a word and so on.
On the negative side, having these technologies and having the answer to all of our questions at the tip of our fingers really doesn't allow us to use our brains as much. Instead of picking up a dictionary to find the spelling or meaning of a word, we use the internet. Instead of using an encyclopedia for research information on something, we turn to google.
2. How is Web 2.0 challenging us to "rethink" ourselves?
Web 2.0 is challenging us to rethink ourselves by teaching us about what technologies are really capable of doing. It is so easy for something to go viral on the internet, we need to be careful of what we put on it. Children are even starting to grow up attached to technology, and losing what we called our childhood.
Having such websites, like facebook, twitter etc. makes it easier to stay in touch with people who are not currently with you. You are able to keep a relationship with someone far away from you, without affecting it too much. A lot of people, like myself, are really grateful for that.

A Look @ Music Videos.
What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction
Initial Reaction -
My immediate reaction when I watch this video is how beautiful the scenery is. I, personally, love the beach. So this attracts me and pulls me in wanting to watch more.
Analysis and interpretation -
The director of this specific music video just wanted the boys to have fun. He had known that the boys of One Direction were 5 fun loving boys who loves fooling around and wanted to capture that within their first single's video. This video shows both female and male teenagers having fun, and that is what he intended to show. Personally, I think that it is aligned with gospel values as God put us on this earth to love one another and live in peace within a community.
Consideration of cultural context -
A simple event such as liking a girl and calling her beautiful, but she didn't believe you could have influenced this song and video. In a specific part in the video you witness one of the members of One Direction [Harry Styles] singing to the girl. He is telling her how beautiful she is, and how she lights up the world.
Expression of aesthetic judgement -
The music video is supposed to attract a teenage audience. I feel as if the lyrics and the story line work perfectly together because we can all relate. We all have the desire to have fun with our friends whether it be on the beach or not, and we also start getting different feelings and attractions to others at this age.
Ongoing reflection -
As I've said, the song is very fun. The beat allows you to dance to it and sing along. The boys of One Direction are ironically good looking, which may attract young girls to the video as well. Fortunately, they have amazing voices to match their astonishingly good looks.

Beauty - Is it Really in the Eye of the Beholder?
I don't think that anyone in the world is entirely satisfied with the way they look. I believe that everyone has a desire to be "perfect". We're all taught by our parents, our teachers, and even the Bible that the only form of "perfect" is God.
1.  Why do you think people are portrayed this way in the media?
I think that people are portrayed in the media this way because everyone has a picture in their mind of what "perfect" looks like. Maybe it's a slim body, full lips, a narrow nose, carefully shaped eyebrows, a thin face, or two equally watermelon sized breasts.
When a beautiful girl pops up on your television advertising the new cover girl makeup, it attracts you to it because your mind tells you that you might look like her.
The advertising techniques are used on a regular day basis to draw us in to the product.
2.  How are you affected by the images you see?
Personally, I try to not let the images that I see everyday bother me. I'm not perfect and I try to understand that, but like any other girl, sometimes it's really hard. We not only have to deal with girls around us that may make us feel insecure, but the media does as well.
3.  What can be done to reduce the amount of young men and women that are negatively affected by these images?
Use real people. There is nothing wrong with advertising a product with a beautiful woman, or a to-die-for handsome man. I just feel as if they should start using real people - not 100% photo shopped barbie dolls.
4.  What would your reaction be to a magazine cover where the subject isn’t all glammed up?  Is this a possible route that society should take?  Why or why not?
How funny! I hadn't even read this question before I answered the one above.
I really believe that this is the route that society should take. In order for both young women and men to be fully comfortable with they way they look, they should be able to go online and watch the television and see people who look natural.
Here is a six minute video tutorial on how to "Virtually put someone on a diet in Photoshop". Pay attention to how he talks about this woman and the words he uses to describe her.
Women should be able to feel beautiful all the time. It shouldn't matter how much they weigh or whether they have perfect skin or not. [Not meaning to sound cliche!] But what really matters, is their heart.

To Share or not To Share ... That is the Million Dollar Question....
We live in a society in which grave crimes such as homicides, rape, driving while intoxicated, and drug possession are committed everyday. All of the crimes listed above are either harmful to oneself and/or others. While having to deal with such a corrupted world, I do not believe file sharing should be a problem, as there are so many other things that could be focused on. File sharing does not have a bad effect on anyone else, but maybe a few bucks out of the artists pocket... and when I say a few, I literally mean a few. I don't feel as if the amount of files we share greatly affect the amount of money these artists make. When I compare the life I live to the extravagant life these celebrities live, I can honestly say that I don't care whether I buy their album for 15 bucks, or download their album for free off of the internet.
I could never see myself in that situation, but if some sort of miracle happens and I wake up tomorrow singing like an angel with a record deal and album coming out in two weeks, I definitely would not be against the idea of others sharing my files. I would be open to the idea of people hearing my music by any means possible. and I would know for sure that not everyone would be downloading it but a small percentage of the population.
I do feel as if it is morally acceptable to download copyright material if it is only intended for personal use, because in the end, we still respect the artist of the song or the actor in/director of the movie.

Texting in Social Situations.
Recently I went to dinner with my mother. We happened to glance over and see two couples engaging in a double date. As both of the women sat quietly typing away on their iPads, the two men also insisted on typing on their iPhones. There was evidently no conversation between the four people. Ofcourse, there is the possibilty that they were texting each other, but that's highly doubted!
1. What are your thoughts on texting in social situations?
1. What are your thoughts on texting in social situations?
Texting is a way to communicate (obviously) and sometimes you want to talk to someone else that you aren't with at the moment. Your attention should not be completely focused on the phone as you have company around you, but it should be understood that you do have other people to talk to!
2. Do you find it rude if you’re talking to somebody and they proceed to text continuously on their cell phone?
Now, there is always and exception to a rule. But, NOT this. When I'm talking to you, you should be looking at me. Unless you're typing everything I'm saying to you right now you should not be typing away to your friend. I mean, do I not deserve your undivided attention at this time?
Victoria's Texting Etiquette !
Uno : If you are texting someone, let them know that you're out and around people. Just so you're able to answer their texts 10 minutes or so after they send it, without them getting mad.
Deux: Do not have serious conversationg while texting. If you know for a fact that you wont be listening to the person as they speak, do not waste their time and their breathe talking to someone who isn't listening.
Three: Do not have serious conversations through text. Some things may come across and read differently than you intend. If something must be said, call them or wait to talk to them in person.
Quatre: Okay, it takes less that 20 seconds to cross the road. I'm PRETTY sure you can put off reading something on your phone or typing something for that amount of time. You may even save your life.
Cinq: Family time is family time! You're able to put away your phone to spend time with your family, that's not asking too much is it? Okay... for some people it is... but you could atleast TRY!
I am a blackberry addict myself. I've gotten my phone taken away by my parents, teachers and even my friends because I'm so attached to it. So, telling you guys all this is a learning experience for myself as well. I will TRY my best and do better :)
