To Share or not To Share ... That is the Million Dollar Question....

We live in a society in which grave crimes such as homicides, rape, driving while intoxicated, and drug possession are committed everyday. All of the crimes listed above are either harmful to oneself and/or others. While having to deal with such a corrupted world, I do not believe file sharing should be a problem, as there are so many other things that could be focused on. File sharing does not have a bad effect on anyone else, but maybe a few bucks out of the artists pocket... and when I say a few, I literally mean a few. I don't feel as if the amount of files we share greatly affect the amount of money these artists make. When I compare the life I live to the extravagant life these celebrities live, I can honestly say that I don't care whether I buy their album for 15 bucks, or download their album for free off of the internet.

I could never see myself in that situation, but if some sort of miracle happens and I wake up tomorrow singing like an angel with a record deal and album coming out in two weeks, I definitely would not be against the idea of others sharing my files. I would be open to the idea of people hearing my music by any means possible. and I would know for sure that not everyone would be downloading it but a small percentage of the population.

I do feel as if it is morally acceptable to download copyright material if it is only intended for personal use, because in the end, we still respect the artist of the song or the actor in/director of the movie.
